Shri Mahalakshmi Mandir, Belvan, Mathura
Belvan, the Bilva Van of Braj in the Mathura region, is where local tradition says Maa Lakshmi performed tapasya in the hope of joining Lord Krishna's Maharaas. The Shri Mahalakshmi Mandir here is dedicated to her, and devotees from across Braj come to pray for wealth, prosperity and a happy household, especially around Diwali, when homes and temples are filled with lamps in her honour.
